Three iPhone 17 dummy units appear in leaked hands-on video

  • Dummy units of three iPhone 17 models have surfaced
  • A hands-on video of the new designs is shown.
  • We also expected thickness for both phones.

If Apple sticks to its usual schedule this year, we'll be just six months away from the Apple iPhone 17 launch, and a new hands-on video leak shows dummy units of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro.

Posted by idevicehelp (via @majinbuofficial), the video gives us a good look at the designs of the three phones. These dummy units appear to have been created based on “internal documents” covering the designs and dimensions of the phones.

We could see the rather dramatic redesign that the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to get this year, with a full camera bar across the top of the back casing. It's an updated look that we've now seen in multiple leaks.

The iPhone 17 Air — which will apparently replace the iPhone 16 Plus this year — gets a similar camera bump on the back, but it will be smaller. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 sticks to a more traditional design that’s not far off from the iPhone 16.

This leaked step-by-step video doesn't reveal the phones besides the designs, but a thickness of 0.3 inches (0.72mm) is mentioned for the iPhone 17, 0.22 inches (5.59mm) for the iPhone 17 Air, and 0.34 inches (8.64mm) for the iPhone 17 Pro.

That would make the iPhone 17 the same thickness as the iPhone 16, and the iPhone 17 Pro thicker than the iPhone 16 Pro — perhaps to accommodate a larger battery (or at least that's what we hope.

There’s some speculation in the video that the Aphone 17 Air will be too thin to fit Magsafe magnets – although wireless charging will still be supported. The recently launched iPhone 16E doesn’t support Magsafe.

There’s no doubt a lot in the way of leaks and rumors between now and September, when these phones are expected to debut. They’ll be joined by the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will essentially be the iPhone 17 Pro.
