Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 makes it unofficial and makes a minimalist design

  • New Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Tip A Tlymer Design Demo
  • The foldable gene could also have larger screens.
  • Meanwhile, the Galaxy Flip 7 is tipped to feature a powerful Snapdragon chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could sport a specific design that makes it slimmer, potentially measuring 4.5mm thick when unfolded.

These rumors come as a courtesy. Android titles To produce a render of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 based on what appears to be insider information. If this information is on point, that’s a decent reduction in thickness in smartphone terms, considering the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measured in at 5.6mm. It would also put the Fold 7 just 0.3mm thicker than the world’s thinnest foldable phone, which is currently the Oppo Find N5 at 4.35mm when unfolded.

Aside from looking a bit slicker, perhaps having sharper corners on the screen and perhaps a slightly narrower bezel, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks a lot like the foldable phone that came before it and isn't dramatically different from the Galaxy Z Fold 5; that's Samsung's current approach to iterating on phone designs.

However, what's not easily noticed on the front is that the main display will apparently measure 8.2 inches when unfolded, which is a decent size bump, over the 7.6-inch display on the Fold 6. The cover display is also tipped to measure 6.5 inches, which is slightly larger than the 6.3-inch display on the Fold 6.

Overall, the Fold 7's dimensions are marked out at 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm, which paves the way for the case display to get a size boost by being wider than that on the Fold 6. This can be a blessing or a curse, depending on how good the case display was on older phones. On early models, it was cramped to use comfortably, but one could argue that going wider than the Fold 6's case display could make it harder to navigate for people with smaller hands.

Personally, I'm all for more screen real estate, because it makes sense for foldable phones and helps them pull double duty as a tablet, which in my experience helps make them better for productivity on the go.

Aside from these tweaks, we expect the Galaxy Z Fold to follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S25 and get the elite Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 for Galaxy chipsets, while also bumping its main cameras to 200MP, up from 50MP. But the biggest upgrades are likely to be on the software side, with AI-focused tools and features getting the spotlight from Samsung.

In other foldable rumors, a Korean-language site The bell Reports of Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset falling short of what was expected for the Galaxy S25 range were rumoured, which is why we've seen a Snapdragon chipset across all phones in all regions.

That lower yield seems to still be in effect, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to get a Qualcomm chip instead, leaving the Samsung Z Flip Fe to use the Exynos 2500; this would make sense, as that phone tends to be cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip.

Giving the Galaxy Z Flip 7 the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy Chip will see it sport flagship-grade power, which will be welcome for powering AI features but also means the price of the flip-style foldable is unlikely to drop compared to last year.

The Bell also reports that Samsung could be looking to put a new Exynos 2600 chip in the Galaxy S26 phones, which is sure to arrive next year as part of Samsung’s annual flagship refresh. Given that Samsung often puts Exynos models in its standard models as well as its S-Series in markets outside the US and China, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen with the Galaxy S26. I’d rather Samsung adopt Snapdragon chips across the board given the power they offer.

Either way, we can expect to see new foldables from Samsung around June or July. Head to the comments to let me know if you’re excited about these phones, or what you’d like to see Samsung do in the foldable world.
