The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be one of the best-selling foldable phones in 2025. In its predecessor, Samsung’s foldable phones combine a compact form factor with a more affordable price tag than the Z Fold line, making them a popular choice. Will this trend continue into 2025?
Well, nothing has been confirmed about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 yet, but it’s definitely starting to leak. So, here are all the news, leaks, and rumors we’ve heard about this foldable contender so far.
We'll also be updating this article whenever any new rumors emerge, so be sure to check back soon if you want to stay informed.
Cut to the chase
- What is this? Samsung's Foldable Clamshell
- When does it come out? Maybe July
- How much will it cost? It is likely to reach $1,099.99 / £1,049 / AU$1,799.
Look for it in July.
Our best guess when the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will launch is in July, as the previous two models were July announcements, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 also shipped in July.
However, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 wasn't announced in August of its release year, and the Z Flip 4 wasn't announced until August. However, if it's not July, we'll likely see the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 in August.
There isn't much in the way of release date rumors yet, but pandaflashpro It was claimed that production of the next Samsung foldable will start in May, which could work out to a July or August announcement.
Sources have also spotted both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 name (specifically “B7”) and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 model number (SM-F751), which at least suggests that this phone is in the works.
We've heard that too. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could have the same starting price as the Galaxy Z Flip 6. That would mean a starting price of $1,099.99 / £1,049 / AU$1,799.
Can you trust these rumors?
The source claiming production will start in May, and prices will be unchanged, doesn't have much of a track record, so we'd take that with a pinch of salt. Either way, we'd think a July or August launch was likely.
Bigger, better detailed screens
- The Galaxy Z Flip 7 may have larger displays than its predecessor
- It could also have a better hinge mechanism.
We don't have to rely on pure rumors when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7's design, as Samsung itself said during its earnings call (via jukanlosreve) that this year “we will release new foldable products with improved form factors, durability,” so while the Z Flip 7 isn’t named, it’s likely the one the company is referring to.
Furthermore, we've heard that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could feature larger displays than its predecessor, with a source claiming the foldable display will be 6.85 inches (up from 6.7 inches), and the cover display will be around 4 inches (up from 3.4 inches).
Also on the design front, pandaflashpro leak It claims that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7's hinge mechanism will be smoother and more responsive, that the button placement will be the same as last year's, and that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a smaller display crease than its predecessor.
Can you trust these rumors?
So far, the design has only leaked from one source for each, so we'd take them with a grain of salt. Although the claims of larger screens come from a source with a good track record, so that's probably true.
If nothing else, Samsung's own comments strongly suggest we'll see some design changes.
Camera copies
- Cameras may not get an upgrade.
- This means a 50MP selfie camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP macro camera.
There's only a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 camera leak so far, and it's not very promising, as it looks like this phone will have exactly the same cameras as the Z Flip 6. That means a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP front-facing shooter.
If so, that would be somewhat disappointing, so hopefully subsequent camera leaks will differ with this.
However, if the software isn't improved it's likely to be improved, and we expect to see new AI photography tools as well.
Can you trust these rumors?
Since we’ve only heard camera claims from one source so far, we’d take them with a pinch of salt. However, it’s plausible that Samsung won’t improve the cameras, especially since the Samsung Galaxy S25’s cameras weren’t upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S24.
Exynos chipset and no change in RAM
- It will likely use the Exynos 2500 chipset.
- It may match its predecessor's RAM and storage.
There is likely to be bad news when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7's chipset, as according to one rumor, it will have the Exynos 2500.
This is set to be Samsung's most powerful smartphone chipset for 2025, and it will certainly outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. But based on past form, it's probably no match for the Snapdragon 8, which the Samsung Galaxy S25 uses, and what we can hope for is that.
There is still some hope for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as another source claims there are Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 prototypes with both chipsets.
These rumors are given more weight as a Korean language website The bell Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset has been reported to be underperforming, which is why we've seen the Galaxy S25 range get Snapdragon chips across all phones and regions. That's expected to continue for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which means you're likely to get a Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy S25.
Furthermore, we've heard elsewhere that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could feature 12GB of RAM, and a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage — identical specs to the current model.
Valserb pandaflashpro posted on x, saying that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a larger vapor chamber than the Z Flip 6, which could help it stay cooler and thus avoid suffocation.
It could also help battery life, as could the use of a “high-efficiency” display, though we haven’t heard anything about the phone’s battery. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 had a 4,000mAh battery, so we expect the Z Flip 7 to be at least that size.
Can you trust these rumors?
All of these specs have only been mentioned by one source, so we'd take them all with a pinch of salt for now, even though there's nothing incredible here.
Hopefully Samsung will either equip the phone with the elite Snapdragon 8 chipset or give it more than 12GB of RAM — or both. But that’s just a hope, not a prediction.
