data transfer control protocol

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is one of the protocols used to exchange data across a single network. It is designed to send data packets over the Internet and ensure their successful delivery from one party to another. This protocol is considered one of the basic Internet protocols and one of the most widely used protocols in digital networks.[١]

The Data Transfer Control Protocol establishes a connection between the sender and receiver of data, then ensures that the connection remains available throughout the entire transmission process. It also divides large amounts of data into small packets that are successfully sent from one end to another. It is worth noting that this protocol was designed by the US Department of Defense to support data transfer between devices.[١]

The Data Transfer Control Protocol ensures that all data packets reach the sender and the receiver; therefore, it is used to transfer data from high-level protocols that need all their data to reach one end to the other. It is also considered one of the protocols that can be developed and include the use of new protocols within it.[١][٢]
