Ghalyoun Pool Project
Evergreen Company implemented this project according to the highest international specifications. Ghalyoun Pond contains 466 fish ponds and fattening ponds, with a production capacity of up to 300 tons of fish per year. It also includes 83 freshwater fish ponds for fish farming. The pond area is 500 acres, sufficient to meet the needs of citizens, in addition to 655 shrimp farming ponds equipped with automatic feeders and central drainage, producing approximately 200 tons per year, sufficient to support the local market and export abroad.[١]This project was implemented by the Egyptian military institution in cooperation with the Chinese company Evergreen, on an area of 3,500 acres, and was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in November 2017.[٢]
The project was implemented at a cost of 1.7 billion Egyptian pounds, equivalent to 108.4 million US dollars. This pond used modern technology in fish farming.
